Starting on October 27th, 2022 - CSL will have open hours from 7am-6pm Monday to Friday.

These CSL labs are open for vet students only. You will need your student keycard to access the building.

Covelo hosts our own clinical skills lab sessions in MPT! We will focus on important skills that will be useful in the upcoming clinic.

Works alone or in teams of 2
Takes morning surgery intakes for physical exams until all surgery has checked in
Takes non-surgical/wellness cases only
Similar to Mercer/KLOHC wellness protocols
Responsible for all treatment for the patient
Must complete the physical exam medical record for all their patients
Responsible for completing discharge instructions for only wellness patients

Always works with Anesthesia Student
Takes morning surgical physical exams first until all surgeries are checked in BEFORE working on surgical patients
Only 3rd/4th years can induce before surgery

Specific Duties:

Responsible for gowning and gloving into surgery and remaining sterile until the surgery is complete

Responsible for completing the surgery report and discharge instructions
Responsible for cleaning surgical instruments and packing 1 surgical pack after each surgery
Responsible for discharging surgical patients

Always works with Surgery Student
Takes morning surgical physical exams first until all surgeries are checked in BEFORE working on surgical patients
Only 3rd/4th years can induce before surgery

Specific Duties:

Responsible for shaving and monitoring patient prior to moving to operating room
Monitor patient under anesthesia during surgery
Responsible for giving vaccines and any other treatment to patient while recovering
Must ALWAYS stay with patient until fully recovered
