  • Why should I join Psi Chi if I can just participate in Psychology Club?

    Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology, which recognizes academic excellence and provides exclusive opportunities for professional growth, networking, and scholarships.

    While the Psychology Club welcomes all students interested in psychology, Psi Chi membership is a distinguished honor that becomes a permanent part of your academic record, resume, and CV, providing lifelong benefits beyond UC Davis. We will also have events and opportunities in our chapter exclusively for Psi Chi members. Being an official, active Psi Chi member will also be required for certain officer positions if you would like to be considered for next year's board.

  • When and where are meetings held?

    Our general meetings are held in TLC 1020 for Spring Quarter 2026 (check Instagram or Discord for most up to date information).

  • What 's the difference between being a Psychology Club member and a Psi Chi member?

    The Psychology Club is open to everyone. Psi Chi is an honor society that requires specific academic qualifications and offers additional perks like networking, scholarships, and recognition on your academic record.

  • Can I join if I don't fulfill Psi Chi requirements?

    Yes! You may join the Psychology Club, which has no requirements to join. Any student can join Psychology Club regardless of major, minor, GPA, or grade/year.

  • Are there dues or fees for the Psychology Club?

    No. There are no membership dues or fees for the Psychology Club. Active Psi Chi members pay a lifetime membership fee and chapter dues, which will be explained at meetings.

  • Do I need to take have taken four upper-division PSC classes by the time I apply for Psi Chi?

    To apply, you must have completed at least four upper-division psychology (PSC 100-199) courses before submitting the application (not just before induction). Membership requirements are here. Feel free to ask our Membership Chair if you have any questions!

  • Do I have to be a Psychology or Cognitive Science major to join the Psychology Club?

    No. All UC Davis students are welcome to join the Psychology Club regardless of major, minor, GPA, or class year.

  • What counts as an active member?

    Active membership is typically defined by regular attendance and participation in meetings, events, and organization activities. This will be something that is weighed when applying to certain board positions.

  • Can I hold an officer position if I'm not a Psi Chi member?

    Some officer positions or leadership roles may require active Psi Chi membership (check with the board for specifics).
