Our articles of association form a document that specifies the regulations for La Familia's operations and defines the group's purpose.
La Familia is led by a team of undergraduate student. We equally share the title of co-facilitator, but we each have unique tasks to manage on a weekly basis.
Our mission is to provide a safe and inclusive space for queer latinx individuals to explore, celebrate, and embrace their cultural and queer identities. We aim to empower our members to break free from societal repression and to promote a community that challenges and educates against various forms of discrimination.
Our vision is a world where queer latinx individuals can live freely and without fear of persecution, where their identities are celebrated, and where they can express themselves fully without judgement. We strive to be at the forefront of creating and supporting an intersectional movement that fights against all forms of oppression.
1. Inclusivity: We believe in creating a space that is welcoming to all queer latinx individuals regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or any other identity.
2. Empowerment: We strive to empower our members to embrace their identities and to become agents of change in their communities.
3. Advocacy: We are committed to advocating for queer latinx individuals and fighting against all forms of oppression, including heterosexism, transphobia, homophobia, racism, and more.
4. Education: We believe in educating ourselves and others on issues related to intersectionality, inclusivity, and the queer latinx experience.
5. Community: We value the creation of a supportive community that provides a safe and social environment for our members to explore and express their identities.
6. Celebration: We celebrate the rich and diverse cultures and identities of our members and work to promote the acceptance and celebration of all queer latinx identities.
