About Us
The Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is a non-profit organization founded in 1952, with the current mission "to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology through publications, research, and community." SIAM achieves this mission by facilitating the flow of knowledge between industry, research, and academia via peer review journals, conferences, and special activity groups. SIAM Student Chapters are specifically designed to help both graduate and undergraduate students advance their research and careers by providing networking and career development opportunities. The UCD SIAM Student Chapter seeks to fulfill this same mission by bridging together students across multiple disciplines and specializations.
