About the Society

Promoting the Understanding of the Molecular Nature of Life Processes: ASBMB is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization with over 12,000 members. Founded in 1906, the Society is based in Rockville, Maryland. The Society's purpose is to advance the science of biochemistry and molecular biology through scientific and educational publications, organization of scientific meetings, advocacy for funding of basic research and education, support of science education at all levels, and promoting the diversity of individuals entering the scientific workforce.

About the Chapter

The Undergraduate Affiliate Network (UAN) of ASBMB chapters hopes to: 1) Assist in the development of strong undergraduate programs in biochemistry and molecular biology, 2) Provide undergraduate programs with access to seminar speakers and regional programs and symposia, 3) Foster interactions between undergraduate educational and outreach programs both regionally and nationally, 4) To recognize outstanding educational activities in the area of biochemistry and molecular biology by individuals and programs.
