About Us

The WTS @ UC Davis mission is to build the future of transportation and close the gender workforce gap in the global transportation industry by promoting lifelong careers in transportation for women, starting with students. Our primary goal is to expand opportunities for women in the transportation industry (a historically male-dominated field) through the professional development, mentoring, and strategic positioning of women. WTS @ UC Davis is a Student Chapter of WTS Sacramento, and is only the 4th to be founded in the state of California. The student chapter was founded in 2017 to connect students interested in exploring or pursuing a career in transportation with the resources and guidance necessary to excel in the industry. With the support of both the WTS Sacramento Chapter and the UC Davis Institute for Transportation Studies, students will participate in a breadth of events ranging from educational tours and presentations, resume building and networking events, advice panels on graduate school and career development, as well as social meet-ups. As a member, students receive a discounted membership fee to WTS International ($30), and gain enhanced access to mentorship programs, scholarship opportunities, and internship/career possibilities. Students of ALL gender/sex identification are welcome to join. Our organization is committed to ethical leadership, integrity and respect for all. The WTS spirit of community, inclusiveness, and mutual support is one of our greatest assets.
