About Us
The Writing Education, Love, and Liberation (WELL) Group recognizes that the current systems of traditional writing education oppress and further marginalize students of color, multilingual writers, and other minoritized groups. This group is committed to creating a space that welcomes critical dialogue and reflexivity that evaluates, challenges, and transforms oppressive teaching practices. This group is also committed to moving beyond equitable practices by pushing toward liberation, thereby empowering marginalized students to thrive within the existing system of knowledge and dismantle structures/systems of power that have ceased to support the majority of the current student population.
