Hello everyone! I'm Yaw, a fourth-year CS student at UC Davis and one of the org's leaders (I’m also the one who sends the updates 😄).

Many people are surprised to find out I've been commuting from Folsom since my freshman year. Oddly enough, being a commuter student has actually motivated me to make the most of my campus experience. During my time here, some of my highlights have been playing basketball at the ARC, competing twice in HackDavis, and attending the 50th NSBE convention in Atlanta.

I remember how challenging it was at first to find community (…and parking—which is why I joined this club 🙃). My advice to anyone in a similar situation: join groups sharing your interests and get involved within your means. If there’s one takeaway I have, it’s that how connected you feel isn’t a product of your circumstances, but a measure of how much you put yourself out there.

That's all from me—finish fall quarter strong, y'all!
