About Us

Theatre for Social Change (TFSC) is a student-led and student-run organization founded in Winter Quarter 2020 out of a necessity for students to have a platform to advocate for social issues through performance. This organization is under the direction of Professor Margaret L. Kemp (Dept. Theater and Dance). We understand that everyone may not have technical experience derived from a theater background. Our goal is to promote dialogue, and strives to build community by encouraging diverse members of the campus and surrounding communities to come together in solidarity over social issues that are truly everyone issues. We want to learn how theatre can best benefit everyone, how we can apply it to our communities, and engage in meaningful social change. This organization is intended to be a space where students from all majors feel like they can contribute through their own expression.
