About Us

Davis Period destigmatizes, celebrates, and improves access to menstrual health through education, service, and advocacy. - EDUCATION We believe that education is key to enacting change and that we are stronger together. We host workshops created by our team members and in collaboration with other student organizations to highlight the complexity of menstrual equity and womxn’s rights in general. Past topics include legislation around provision of menstrual hygiene products (collaboration with IGNITE at UC Davis), environmentally sustainable period management (collaboration with HerCampus at UC Davis), and pad and tampon policies in prison. We would love to meet you at one of our workshops or work with you to host one. If you or your organization are interested in collaborating, please send us message. - SERVICE We believe that menstrual care is a basic right and necessity. Our club partners with local organizations serving communities that need a regular supply of pads, tampons, and/or menstrual cups. We fundraise, hold product drives, and host fun packing parties to put together care packages and deliver requested products to these distribution partners. If you are a local (Davis/Yolo County area) organization or clinic interested in becoming a Distribution Partner, please reach out to us at davisperiod@gmail.com! - POLICY One of our main efforts is our Free the Period CA initiative, a student-led coalition fighting to end period poverty by securing access to menstrual products in all CA public school bathrooms because these products are a basic necessity that ought to be provided like toilet paper or soap.
