About Us
Who We Are: We are a Nepali Student Association consisting of undergraduate and graduate, Nepali and Non-Nepali origin students at University of California, Davis. While we encourage dialogue surrounding our mission, we do not limit our discussions to mission topics. We encourage everyone to bring new themes and new ideas, therefore we invite and welcome everyone in our association. Mission/Purpose Statement: 1. To promote a bigger picture of Nepal and Nepali culture for cultural competency 2. To encourage, promote and provide platform for ethnic participation, cooperation and leadership opportunities for community empowerment 3. To aspire and connect Nepali students from various educational backgrounds with our Nepali culture by presenting our traditions and historical background. 4. To provide opportunities of supporting each other and our families back home through : a). Fundraise for the Nepal’s crisis relief (Immediate Goal) b). Provide useful information to incoming undergraduate and graduate students c). Share graduate and undergraduate experiences at UC Davis to incoming students d. Provide internship and mentor opportunities to its members. *** 5. We also want to be a source of mental health support, as difficulties dealing with being Nepalese in a large university, we want to provide a support system for these unique problems While we are an open group to new ideas, we won’t tolerate colorism, casteism, and other discriminatory ideologies.
