Vol. 6 Call for Submissions: Open Now!
NPHJ is now collecting submissions for Volume 6 of our publication. We are excited to begin our call for submissions for this year’s volume!
Our journal is centered on narrative medicine, which highlights the personal, human aspects of healthcare that are often forgotten. With a selection of expressive pieces from talented undergraduates, our journal explores individual experiences of medicine and healing.
Submissions are diverse and include both visual arts and written work. Visual pieces include photography, paintings, digital art, drawings, crafts, and sculpture. Written pieces include creative and autobiographical narratives, expository essays, letters, reflections, and poetry. Previous pieces have explored themes of empathy, bioethics, personal illness, death and life, healing, and human aspects of the medical environment. This list is certainly not exhaustive; more information on submission guidelines can be found on our website.
The deadline for submissions is January 9th, 2023. After submission, the creator will hear back regarding their submission within a month after the deadline.
Check out the flyer attached for more details regarding the submission process! Please feel free to contact us at narrativeprehealth@gmail.com with any questions. We are excited to see your submissions!
