Mission
Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) believes that all people should have access to health services that allow them to lead safe, healthy lives, including all aspects of sexual and reproductive health consistent with their own personal and cultural values. MSFC stands up in the face of violent opposition, working to de-stigmatize abortion provision among medical students and residents and educating our school community about reproductive health and justice. Today MSFC is an internationally known non-profit organization with a successful track record along with a network of over 10,000 medical students and residents in North America and abroad. Medical Students for Choice is dedicated to ensuring that women receive the full range of reproductive healthcare choices, and is primarily based out of the School of Medicine in Sacramento. MSFC recognizes that one of the greatest obstacles to safe and legal abortion is the absence of trained providers. As medical students and residents, we work to make reproductive health care and justice, including abortion, a part of standard medical education and residency training. We are open to collaboration with students from across UCD Health, including the undergraduate campus, to pursue our goals.
