About Us

Davis Dhadkan is a competitive collegiate all-girls Bollywood Fusion dance team at the University of California, Davis. We aim to provide a platform where undergraduate students can come together to celebrate a variety of dance forms by blending Bollywood dance with styles such as Indian Classical, Jazz, Bhangra, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and Lyrical. We are a team that plans to compete nationally in competitions and plan to travel across the country. This team is founded on the principles of community, and we hope to use dance as a medium to allow students to create lasting connections with each other. No experience is needed to audition; we encourage you to do so regardless of your skill level. We recruit at the beginning of the fall quarter, with potential spring quarter recruitment opportunities. The word Dhadkan, which means heartbeat in Hindi, perfectly captures the passion and desire our team has to keep alive and share the diversity of dance styles with the UC Davis community.
