Mission
CodeLab is a software and design agency at UC Davis, working on impactful software projects with industry clients. Our organization is the first of its kind at UC Davis, with our 3 core principals being Community, Education, and Professional Development.

The mission statement here at CodeLab is to provide students with experience working on large-scale projects similar to that in the tech industry. Our members learn important technical and soft skills necessary in industry, while being a part of a community for the substantial impact through the work we do.

There are three teams at CodeLab: Industry, which works with real clients on an industry-level project; Spark, which works on a variety of smaller-scale projects for nonprofits and for internal use at UC Davis; Upkeep, which works to maintain, improve, and implement new features in existing projects worked on by CodeLab. Although we work with real tech companies and nonprofit organizations to provide an impactful and true-to-life experience, CodeLab never charges fees to work with outside organizations and is all done for free, only asking for guidance and mentorship from these organizations.

We have teams of project managers, designers, and software developers who work together to complete projects during our fall and winter terms. Our goal is for students to have an experience at CodeLab where they are able to build both community and technical skills throughout the term to supplement their experience at UC Davis.
