Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority, Incorporated. was founded on March 10, 1990 at San Diego State University. Latina women from a variety of backgrounds came together to form an organization that would unite and support women across all Alpha Pi Sigma campus chapters. The ladies of Alpha Pi Sigma hold their education in the highest regard. They believe that campus involvement, academics, leadership, and community service are methods to achieve success at the university level. Other objectives of the sorority include promoting members' personal, academic and professional growth. Although Alpha Pi Sigma identifies itself as a Latina based sorority, it does not discriminate against any identity. A central tenet of Alpha Pi Sigma is promoting unity amongst women interested in the Latinx culture. Chapter Philanthropy: In adopting the American Heart Association mission as the chapter philanthropy, the ladies of Alpha Pi Sigma accept the challenge to work to reduce the following: the death rate of heart disease, the prevalence of smoking, the rate of uncontrolled high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and to eliminate the growth of obesity and diabetes among our communities. To achieve this goal, education of the under-served populations and advocacy on health education are both very important aspects to begin tackling these diseases that take the lives of many. Not only do these ladies value their community, but they also cherish their culture and academics, thereby making them indispensable assets to their community. Through education, training, and leadership skills, these ladies hope to share their knowledge to better the Latinx community through their passion and hard work. They believe in having diversity and different ideas and viewpoints, which are the key to becoming better women and building a stronger bond between each other. All women that are interested in the Alpha Pi Sigma experience are welcome.

In December of 1974, a Chicano engineering student at UC Davis, Humberto Rincon, saw the need for unity amongst the Chicanx/Latinx students in the sciences and engineering fields. He felt together, the Chicanx and Latinx engineering and science students could fulfill the needs they were lacking on the UC Davis campus unity and representation.

Clinica Tepati is a UC Davis student-run organization that aims to provide free medical care to the underserved populations of the greater Sacramento area. More specifically, Tepati targets the uninsured Latinx community.

Clínica Tepati operates under a three-part mission of healthcare, education, and advocacy. We provide essential healthcare services and health education to the underserved Latinx community. This inclusive environment fosters educational exchange between UC Davis undergraduates, UC Davis medical students, CNU medical students, UOP pharmacy students, and local healthcare professionals. Through first-hand clinical experiences, each student continues to grow into a conscientious and compassionate healthcare leader.
Additionally, Clínica Tepati connects both patients and students with positive role models and mentors within healthcare. Finally, Clínica Tepati volunteers go beyond providing the standard of care by advocating for recent immigrant patients, serving as both linguistic and cultural interpreters.

Clínica Tepati seeks to provide essential healthcare services to the underserved communities of Sacramento and its surrounding areas, including but not limited to health screening, health education, primary care, and patient advocacy. These services are delivered in an atmosphere appropriate for the needs of the patients in a multilingual/multicultural setting. Clínica Tepati strives to continue advocating for the necessary fundamental changes within our current healthcare system in order to provide equitable care for all.

ColorStack at UC Davis is a club chapter based on the ColorStack national tech nonprofit that supports Black and Latinx students interested in CS/Tech through community building, academic support, and career development programs. Our mission is to uplift and create a safe space for students with fun mixers while supporting them through career development workshops, mental health panels, and access to well-known events such as the Grace Hopper, SHPE, and NSBE, conferences as well as ColorStack Nationals Exclusive IRL Summit.

Mujeres Ayudando la Raza (M.A.R) is a non-profit organization for the purpose of creating a network of support of Chicana/Latina students. Our objectives are to promote academic excellence by aiding in the retention of our members in the University. We are dedicated to creating enduring bonds of friendship and to share our strength by committing ourselves to the community. Mujeres Ayudando la Raza is also committed to the welfare of Chicanas and Latinas in the community as well as the Chicanx/Latinx population as a whole. Spanish in Healthcare is a student organization dedicated to practicing medical Spanish and giving back to the Latino community. We hold monthly meetings where we practice medical Spanish terminology and discuss pertinent health issues in the Latinx and Black communities. With the growing number of native Spanish speakers in the US, the rapidly increasing language barriers within healthcare, and the national shortage of BIPOC physicians; SHC strives to overcome this language barrier and diversify the field of healthcare by teaching aspiring healthcare professionals medical Spanish terminology and thus improving health outcomes for Spanish-speaking and BIPOC patients & communities.

The Student Recruitment & Retention Center (SRRC) was established in 2000 with the goal of performing student-led outreach and retention for historically underrepresented, educationally disadvantaged, and low-income communities. Our student-initiated programs created by students for students foster holistic, academic and personal development while raising political and cultural awareness for youth and college students. We educate, engage, and empower students to act as dynamic leaders for their communities so that we can all transform knowledge into action.

We have 7 community programs in the SRRC that are all led by UC Davis student leaders. Each of our students
develop and implement recruitment and retention programs for students in our communities.
