The Anthropology Graduate Student Association supports community and professional development among graduate students in the Department of Anthropology. It is also serves as the intermediary for selecting representatives and distributing information for communication with the Anthropology Department faculty, UC Davis Graduate Student Association (GSA), and the undergraduate focused Anthropology Club. The club also helps run the Department of Anthropology Outreach Program, hosting K-12 classes at UC Davis for educational presentations.

Bangladeshi Graduate Student Association (BDGSA) will unite and represent the graduate student community of Bangladeshi origin at UC Davis. BDGSA will advance the general welfare of all Bangladeshi graduate students and promote harmonious cooperation and interaction with the Bangladeshi community in the greater Sacramento area. BDGSA will also organize cultural, educational, social, and charitable events designed to represent Bangladeshi history and heritage. These events will facilitate ethnic diversity and multicultural understanding with the general student body at UC Davis.

The Chemical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering Graduate Student Organization (CHMS GSO) at the University of California, Davis supports graduate students in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Materials Science & Engineering. The mission of the CHMS GSO is to foster a connected, supported, and professionally engaged graduate student community through the following goals:
Graduate Student Advocacy: Represent the interests, concerns, and ideas of CHMS graduate students to the departments, the College of Engineering, the Graduate Student Association, UAW 4811, and other relevant University and external bodies through dedicated officer roles described in Article V.
Interdepartmental Community: Strengthen connections between graduate students in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Materials Science & Engineering by creating shared spaces, events, and initiatives that bridge the two departments and recognize their overlapping interests, professional pathways, and student experiences.
Professional Development: Organize seminars, workshops, networking opportunities, and industry engagement events that prepare members for careers in academia, industry, and government.
Social Events: Host regular social and community-building activities that strengthen connections among graduate students across cohorts, research groups, and the two departments.

Encompassing interests such as language variation, study abroad, technology and education, bilingualism, and second language lexical and phonological development, this interdisciplinary cluster supports research, exploration, and collaboration in the field of Linguistics. Comprised of graduate students and faculty from Languages and Literatures, the Department of Linguistics and the School of Education, this research group facilitates a space in which members read and discuss relevant literature, present and develop their research, organize colloquia, and invite guest speakers. Writing productivity is also encouraged through the organization of writing retreats, workshops, and peer review sessions.

The CSTGSA works to support and build solidarity between graduate students affiliated within Cultural Studies, as well as affiliated and aligned programs, organizations, students and communities. The organization’s role is to protect, advocate for, and advance the interests of CST students to ensure greater social justice, and to do so by any means necessary.

We sponsor lectures, workshops, and presentations. We co-sign on letters of solidarity addressing issues facing our members and the community at large. Additionally, we collaborate with other organizations on campus for events, cultural activities, workshops, and other programs that promote the voices and experiences of underrepresented and marginalized communities and peoples.

CSTGSA believes in the power of collaboration and representation. For these reasons, CSTGSA members and leaders commit to supporting and building community with anyone that interfaces with our graduate group. We do so by joining committees, alliances, coalitions, attending meetings, providing feedback, creating spaces, and showing up for each other.

Equity in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Entrepreneurship (ESTEME) is a graduate student organization dedicated to improving equity and inclusion in STEM fields and entrepreneurship. Initiated under the UC Davis Biotechnology Program in 2014, ESTEME has since evolved into an interdisciplinary group that seeks to promote meaningful community involvement from graduate students across a wide range of majors. Our mission is to: (i) inspire individuals from underrepresented groups to pursue careers in STEM and entrepreneurship through outreach and community service; (ii) empower students to overcome and eliminate inequity based on gender, ethnicity/race, sexual orientation, and/or socioeconomic background; (iii) promote allyship and community responsibility for diversity/equity initiatives; (iv) raise awareness and generate critical conversation to reduce disparities in leadership roles; and (v) create opportunities to develop emotional intelligence and improve leadership skills such as communication, collaboration, and compassion. Programming in ESTEME typically focuses on providing members with opportunities for outreach, professional development, and engagement with local leaders. We also organize an annual diversity colloquium, during which a panel of professionals (typically from underrepresented minority groups) from industry and academia are invited to share their experiences and speak to students about equity and diversity-related topics.
