The Aggie Neurodiversity Community (ANC) is a social community of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as general community members, who identify as neurodivergent. Neurodiversity is broadly and inclusively defined, no diagnoses necessary, so as to create as welcoming and diverse a space as we can. We work side-by-side with the Disabled Student Union, another UC Davis club, to create a space for disability cultures while supporting and empowering our communities.

ANC has many participation modalities to suit the variable needs and preferences of the neurodivergent community. Members socialize on our Discord server, join weekly meetings, and attend occasional in-person events, in any combination. Weekly meetings are held over Zoom, with new meeting times determined every quarter to best accommodate rotating schedules. Dabket Watan Dance Group at UC Davis is a cultural organization on campus that strives to teach its members about the Middle Eastern culture, music, and traditional values through the dabkeh dance. In Arabic, “dabkeh” means “stomping of the feet,” but in parts of the Middle East, it is also a traditional style of dance commonly performed at Arabic celebrations such as weddings.

Dabket Watan at UCD is open to all students regardless of race, age, sex, religion, or campus origin. Founded in 2019 by a Jordanian second year student at UC Davis, Lana Alamamreh, with the help of her fourth year Yemeni friend Gamar Alizani. Dabket Watan at UCD has since collaborated with many other student groups on campus and has been invited to participate in many events held both on and off campus.

The Hermanas Escritoras is a women-led student run organization at UC Davis dedicated to authoring new possibilities in academic and science writing. We are a group of graduate and undergraduate students from different science and educational areas/backgrounds. We work toward making writing accessible and inviting to everyone. Part of our mission is to include more of our roots, languages, and lived experiences in writing for academic purposes. We believe creativity should be fostered not just in our personal lives, but in all writing courses. We recognize that discrimination, pressures to conform, racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression exist when it comes to writing and academia. Because of this, we must be aware of the different writing structures. However, we collectively push back on writing standards that perpetuate White Language Supremacy (WLS). Our collective work includes critical dialogue and action that transforms the current writing curriculum, so that it is more inclusive of different writers’ voices that have not been historically included in academic writing.

The Taiwanese American Organization (TAO) at University of California, Davis is an organization that provides community to Taiwanese-Americans, and those with Taiwanese cultural interests. Through social activities, TAO will educate members about Taiwanese culture and history along with Taiwan's current events. We, the members of the TSA( Taiwanese Student Association) at UC Davis, gather together for our common interests in Taiwanese culture. TSA provides various social and cultural opportunities throughout the year for not only Taiwanese but also students from all around the world to come and learn about and be able to enjoy Taiwanese culture. The Vietnamese Student Association at UC Davis - also known as “VSA at UCD”, is a social-cultural student organization at UC Davis that promote a social, supportive, and philanthropic platform that enables the growth of Vietnamese culture, community, and compassion. We accept everyone and anyone into our community regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and capabilities. As long as you are willing to learn and embrace the Vietnamese heritage, you are more than welcome to call VSA at UCD your home.

Throughout the year, VSA at UCD hosts events and programs that further uplift our members and our community - whether that is through our community-based events and programs such as Culture Show, Bike-A-Thon, VISTA (Vietnamese Outreach Initiative for Students Transforming Academia), Culture & Identity Workshops, VSA By Night, and more; or our social-based events and programs such as the Anh-Chi-Em (ACE) Program, Houses, Snow Trip & Spring Retreat, Pho Night, Intramural Sports & Activities, and more!

In addition, amongst 10 schools, VSA at UCD is a part of NorCal UVSA (the regional union of Vietnamese Student Associations of Northern California). NorCal UVSA is a non-profit organization whose goal is to unify the various Vietnamese and Vietnamese American communities in Northern California. Through community-based work, our organizations hope to educate and lead young individuals into a new era of collaborative growth.

We strive to provide a safe and welcoming space for scholars to build a community while bridging the gap between high school, college, and career. Through our mentor program, we aspire to facilitate connecting students to campus and local resources. Our organization will inform scholars about jobs, internships, and networking opportunities through our meetings and newsletters. In addition to this, we will organize professional development workshops to equip scholars with professional skills to excel in their chosen profession. Supporting our scholars is of the utmost importance. We will promote a healthy lifestyle, provide weekly tutoring support, and host social events. We hope our efforts will increase graduation rates for those from the Central Valley and encourage more scholars to pursue higher education.
