Join CSI's Assistant Director for Student Expression, Jose Napoles, for an interactive breakdown of what Freedom of Expression actually looks like on campus. We’ll clear up the confusion around campus forums, break down time, place, and manner policies, and give you the tools to make informed decisions and keep your communities safe.
In this session, you’ll learn how to:
Know Your Forums: Understand the difference between public, limited, and nonpublic spaces on campus and how your rights shift in each.
Decode Campus Policies: Get the real scoop on policy boundaries like amplified sound, tabling, and event security so your events run smoothly.
Protect & Advocate: Discover how the Student Affairs Response Team supports student expression, helps de-escalate tension, and connects you with key campus resources.
Navigate Real Scenarios: Work through practical examples of campus dissent and learn proactive strategies for community safety and self-care.
Who should attend? Student organization leaders, campus advocates, and any Aggie who wants to speak up, stay informed, and make an impact effectively.
Bring your questions and come learn more about Freedom of Expression at UC Davis.
