No, not in a dramatic fantasy-series way... just in a "you might need a jacket in the morning" kind of way. As we settle into the heart of the quarter and cooler weather arrives, remember to take care of yourself, lean on your community, and make time for the things that help you feel grounded. We've gathered this week's highlights, resources, and opportunities just for you.

Grad Chat Series

Join us for our new Grad Chat series!!! This is a space for graduate and professional students to gather with folks at similar stages in their academic and professional journeys; discuss issues and current events impacting the graduate population; and learn about and share campus and community resources. This is meant to be a space where we can find community, decompress, and grow our resource kits together.
This program centers the experience of LGBTQIA+ graduate and professional scholars and postdocs, though anyone from the UC Davis community is welcome. This includes students, staff & faculty. Hope to see you there!
Dates: Oct. 7, Oct. 28, Nov. 18
Time: 3:30PM - 5:30PM
Location: LGBTQIA Resource Center
UCI Home and Well-Being Study

We are seeking participants for The Legacy Center’s Home and Well-Being Study. The Home and Well-Being Study seeks to gather experiences and data to describe the well-being of LGBTQIA+ UC students and the important role of housing.
The study will collect valuable information to help shape how UC campuses can better support LGBTQIA+ students and meet their basic needs. Participants will receive a $25 gift card after completing the survey. Please see the flyer attached below for more information. The flyer reflects updated details about the study.
If you yourself are interested, or know of anyone else who might, you can complete and/ or share the interest form linked here: https://uci.questionpro.com/HWBInterestForm. Please share this study with one or two of your peers!
The study is led by Dr. Sean Arayasirikul at UC Irvine’s The Legacy Center (TLC). If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to reach out to us at HomeAndWellBeing@hs.uci.edu.
Additionally:
We’re seeking to recruit student leaders across the UC community who are interested in volunteering time during their week to help further recruit on their campuses. Responsibilities include weekly ZOOM meetings with the study team, creation of pertinent outreach strategies, weekly outreach activities, and completion of outreach field reports. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity to gain research recruitment experience, to generate material to include in resumes, and to contribute to knowledge generation that will promote and cultivate power, leadership, equity, and health justice for LGBTQIA+ students.
If you are interested, please reach out to Tracy Tran at tracytt7@uci.edu. If you know any else who might be interested, please share this opportunity.
