Our Mission Statement
WiR creates a community with other women and allies in the overall engineering and robotics field to be able to practice and build upon their skills. We strive to give a platform to all of the women in engineering to present our talents being brought together through our projects.
Our Goals
WiR has a project timeline for the year:
→(Fall: Brainstorm, Blueprint, and Bonding) →(Winter: Project Building) →(Spring: Presenting)
We plan on following this general timeline for our project building.
Where are your meetings?
For the Winter Quarter 2025, we will be meeting at Kemper Hall 1127 on Mondays from 4:10PM-6:00PM.
If you aren't able to make it to a meeting, no worries! DM us on our Instagram page (@wiratucd) , contact us via our Discord server, or simply send us an email wirclubucd@gmail.com and we can give you a recap of any necessary information!
Do I have to participate in the projects to be apart of the club?
No! Although we strongly encourage our members to participate, we understand that your schedule's might get busy. If a member doesn't have time to commit to a project, the are more than welcome to join us for study jams, activity nights, movie nights, etc.
**DISCLAIMER: Only those actively involved in project are allowed to present and take credit for project.**
Do I need experience?
NO! Not a bit of coding, engineering, and general robotics experience is required for you to join our club! We are going to assist our members along the way during projects to help encourage our members to learn.
We will also be having skill-building activity nights that aim to help build necessary skill that we will use during our projects.
Where is the BEST platform to contact you?
Our best method of reaching out to us is through our community Slack page! Feel free to message any of the officers, board members, or general members for anything you may need. We use Slack for general communication about the club, projects, and just to chat!
