About Us
Art for Elders is a service-oriented club partnering with Atria Senior Living to foster meaningful intergenerational connections through art. With Art for Elders, artists can reignite their love for art. The laid back nature of the club allows busy students to freely delegate their time to art, draw inspiration from their pen-pal, and find a sense of fulfillment in community service. Each month, senior residents and students are paired up as pen pals. Club members create and send letters to residents at Atria Senior Living, sharing introductions and personal messages. Residents have the opportunity to respond with their own letters, which may include personal stories or topics to inspire the students' art. Throughout the following weeks, club members create personalized art pieces inspired by the residents' letters. Within the month, both the completed art pieces and the students' response letters are delivered back to the Atria residents at an end-of-the-month art show — continuing the cycle of creativity and connection.
